FAQ

Short answers for a small product.

The legacy FAQ was placeholder text. These are the questions the new lanes and the original UserAudio promise can actually stand behind.

What is UserAudio?
A US company and a website for people who already have something to say in audio. Listen. Share. Discover. You can upload a piece that matters, share it free or name a price when catalogs return, and — in this first slice — finish one song with lyrics, a pay-once package, a public pitch, or a private hire.
Do I need a subscription to make one song?
No. Create lyrics starts free with a small draft limit. Make a Song packages are pay-once. Needs a Voice is free to post and audition. The original site also said there were no membership fees required just to participate.
What do the Make a Song packages include?
Lyrics polish is $29. A demo bed is $49. Audition-ready is $79 and is meant to drop straight into a singer brief. Fulfillment operations stand up after checkout is live.
Is the lyric writer a live model?
If an OpenAI or Anthropic key is set in the environment, yes. If not, the studio still drafts a full lyric and labels the result as demo mode.
What is Discover / Pitch?
A public board where you pay $9 or $19 to list a track. People nominate singers — not general comments. You can shortlist, invite someone into Needs a Voice, or start a license intro. UserAudio’s proposed perpetual cut on platform-introduced licenses is a draft pending counsel.
How does Needs a Voice hiring work?
You post a 30–60 second excerpt, a brief, and a budget at or above $99. Singers send private auditions with a fixed quote. You hire one. A 15% fee comes from the performer payout.
Can I clone a voice — or ask a singer to sound like someone famous?
No. UserAudio will not offer voice cloning, model training on a singer’s takes, or impersonation. If that is the job, this is the wrong house.
Who owns the lyrics I generate and edit?
You edit and keep the words you take forward. Provider terms still apply when a live model is used. Counsel will lock the exact grant in the published terms.
Can I share audio for free or set my own price?
That was a core promise of the first site, and it stays in the plan. A bedtime story for a quarter, a continuing-education hour for ten dollars, a remembrance piece that is not for sale. Upload-listen-sell for those catalogs comes after this MVP. Today you can pitch a track on Discover or hire a singer in private.
How do ratings work?
When catalog audio returns, the owner assigns G, PG, PG-13, or M. Listeners can disagree with the starting label. The criteria are on the ratings page. They are house guidance, not a government certificate.
What are the User Commandments?
House rules: respect other people’s work, don’t upload what you don’t have rights to, don’t troll or impersonate, don’t ask for clones. “No infringement intended” is not a defense. The full list is on the house rules page.
Where did continuing education and remembrance audio go?
They are still part of the product plan. This rebuild ships the lyrics → song → singer slice first so the site is useful before a catalog returns.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Not in this release. The old store buttons were not a real listing we are repeating. Use the website.
How do I sign in?
Email a one-time magic link from the sign-in page. There is no password and no extra social login in this rebuild.
How do I report a problem?
Use the help page and say whether it is technical, payment, copyright, or content. Copyright complaints have their own address on the copyright information page. Abuse can also go to report@useraudio.com.
